Philip Tong is the founder and Managing Partner of Philip Tong & Co (AF:0401), Chartered Accountants.

Philip founded his public practice in 1983 in Sibu, and over the years, established regional branches within Sarawak, namely Kuching, Miri, Bintulu and Sarikei.

He holds a Bachelors of Commerce in Accounting and Finance (Hons) degree from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), and an approved Auditor and Company Liquidator under the Malaysian Companies Act 2016. Philip is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and a licensed Tax Agent.

Philip’s professional background has facilitated the firm in establishing a multi-disciplinary foothold in audit, accounting, regulatory advice, taxation, and corporate secretarial services. Philip in his 34 years of public practice has amassed extensive commercial experience in advising small, mid-sized and listed client groups from various backgrounds - these include commodities, shipping, forestry, property development, sawmilling and manufacturing companies, reflective of the dominant economic sectors in Sarawak.

Alexander Tong holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and an approved company auditor under the Malaysian Companies Act 2016.

Alexander currently serves as a member of MIA’s Sarawak Regional Committee and contributes to academia as an industry advisor to the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

With over 15 years of professional experience, Alexander has been involved in audit and advisory engagements across a broad spectrum of industries, including construction, retail, manufacturing, agriculture, and private healthcare.

Ambrus Wong is a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). He is also an approved auditor under the Malaysian Companies Act 2016.

JWith over 30 years of experience in audit and taxation, Ambrus specializes in statutory audit engagements and tax advisory services. His client portfolio spans a wide spectrum of industries, including construction, manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, property development, and professional services, ranging from small enterprises to large corporations.

Andrew Tong holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from the RMIT University, Australia and a Master of Business(Accounting) from Monash University, Australia. He is a member of the CPA Australia, Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and a qualified member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Andrew is also a Tax Agent approved by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) under Section 153 of the Income Tax Act, 1967.

In addition to leading the company’s tax compliance engagements , (corporate, personal and partnerships ), he has a strong track record of representing taxpayers in tax audits and investigation cases , liaising with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) and the Special Commissioners of Income Tax (SCIT).

Janice Jong holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University Malaysia. She is a Chartered Accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Janice has been involved in audit and assurance engagements for a wide range of clients, from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to large corporations. Her industry experience covers key sectors including private healthcare, property development, construction, and agriculture, providing her with a well-rounded understanding of different business environments and operational challenges.
